Back at work....i think

Well i went back to work last Monday. Was feeling a little bit not well but good enough to go to work. Just a scratchy throat and a little bit of a heaviness in my chest like i was maybe getting a cold. They were giving flu shots at work and the girls were trying to talk me into getting one cuz i am over "50" and it may be a nasty winter. They talked me into it (I have never gotten one before ever) and it was free so i went along with it. This was Tuesday. Wednesday morning i got up with a very heavy feeling in my chest and a cough. I felt yuck all day at work. Thursday i get up with a headache and achy bones. I go to work and am worth nothing all day, got very little done and had a fever. Friday i get up and said forget it...i felt lousy and had very little voice. You got it...the flu shot works...gave me the dang flu. I still feel lousy and it's Sunday. I am hopeing i can go to work tomorrow...we shall see. I still have the headache and a very deep voice and a nagging cough and the heavy feeling in my chest. UGHHHHH!!

On a better note i got my new upper teeth and they are great. I can now chew food again. Much easier to swallow. They were only $150.00. Great deal. BUT if i want a lower plate which mine is a partial with a metal base....they will cost $675.00....thinking i will make due with the ones i have already. Till they break anyway or i have he rest of my teeth pulled and get a full lower plate with will only cost $150.00....lol. They have a new thing where they screw some posts into your jaw bone an i think there is like a magnet on the top which the lower plate sits down over and it keeps your lower plate in place but have heard they are hard to take out cuz the magnets are so strong. Just sounded interesting.

Well there's my week. Hope yours is better. Love ya all.

Back to work for a few

Well it's time to go back to work for a few weeks now. Sorry I am lax at posting, but my life is too boring to put on paper.

I go back to work Monday morning. We will see if anything has changed. That stupid manager is still there and Kathy said she didn't know if i would be put with him or not. I hope not.

Oh, a couple weekends ago when i was puppy sitting for Amanda, Noodle and Chomper had a ball together. Drove me nuts but they had fun. That Sunday when she came to get Noodle I followed her home and we took the dogs to a dog park. I had never been to one before. It was pretty cool. A big fenced in area for the dogs to run and chase each other and play. Chomper ran his short stubby legs off. He sniffed so many butts and got sniffed so many times it was funny. And he isn't at all afraid of any dog no matter how big or small. There were quite a few bigger dogs there that day too. One was a big Mastif with such a huge head kinda like a St Bernard. He slimed Amanda a few times. Chomper and Noodle would take off running and that big dog would start chasing after them. You could hear his paws hitting the ground like drum beats. Our two would dive under the benches and that big dog would throw on his brakes and collide into the bench. It was funny to watch. We let the dogs run for about 2 hours. On the way back to her house they layed in the back seat and panted. When we got to her house she gave them both a bath cuz of all the slobbers and dirt the got into. They got a second wind from the bath and chased each other and romped for about 30 min and then both went to sleep on Amanda (and Amanda went to sleep too) while we (I) watched a movie. Chomper slept all the way home and for 2 days afterwards. Guess I will have to find a close dog park for him to run and play in around here.

Today i am going to go see if i can get my dentures either fixed or replaced so maybe i can chew better. Gotta go to Blue Springs to a place called Affordable Dentures. Lets hope they are...lol. I better go get dressed and ready to go. If you are there by 8am you can get your dentures by noon the same day...woohoo. Such an exciting life i lead.

Love you all.

Totally Fed Up

I am laid off now and pretty glad of it. I will have time to become stress free for a few weeks (about 3). This week was a real doozie for me. I was sick but went to work anyway cuz they had asked for volunteers and i figured it would save me from using sick leave. (Yes i volunteered cuz they have been crapping on me the last month or so.) But they kept everything a big secret and finally on Thursday i decided that i wasn't going to work sick anymore so was going to make that my last day. The manager i have wsa this ignorant guy that they hired off the street this year to be a manager who knew nothing about data conversion. Not sure what their reasoning was in that decision...anyway...he was like i have to go by the book. Well guess what...there isn't a book. It's just a saying and he used it frequently. Several of the people that volunteered were asking him when their last day could be. He said i have a meeting and i will tell you after the meeting. So he comes back and says that everyone has to work till close of business Friday. I got up and went to his manager and told her that i had been coming to work sick and i would like to make this day my last one. She said put it in writing. (like a hardship letter) I told her i was NOT going to put anything in writing cuz there had been 4 people that i knew of that on the last layoff put it in writing to go a day or so before everyone else and whoever sent it to unemploment put it as leave of absence and not lay off so their unempoyment was denied. I told her i was not going to give them anything in writing that they could submit like that because i needed my unemployment. She started to argue with me then decided that she didn't have anything to say about that. She said ok i will tell Thad. I said thank you and went back to my desk. And it was my last day.

That was one conflict for the week. The second one was Friday at the pantry. I went for a little bit and was home in a bout 3 hours. Still had a headache and a bit of a sore throat but went anyway.

Ok. Tanya has stepped down as manager of the pantry cuz she has just bitten off too much on her plate. So the miniserial alliance saw fit to appoint or let him volunteer an old man of about 72 and slow as a snail and he can't lift things. Anyway he is like totally rude especially to women and ignors anything we say and has only been at our pantry for 4 weeks. Well i ended up going off on him too cuz he totally ignored what i was trying to tell him. Thee was some stuff he had brought up from downstairs that didn't go with anything we were giving out and there wasn't enough of it to even put with anything else. So Delbert (one of the other guys in charge but he has been with the pantry for the last 4 years)told us to pack it back up and he wouild just take it back over to our new building for when we move over there. Well Les (old man) came in right after we boxed it up and said this stuff needs to be put out on the table. I politely said Delbert had just told us to put it back in the boxes to take to the other building. He then says well i guess i can hand it out from the boxes. I again tell him what Delbert said and he ignored what i was saying again. This went on about 3 more times and each time i got a little madder and louder untill i just got up and walked away and went to find Delbert. And i must say that Delbert is a little spineless and doesn't like confrontation. So je says well i guess he is in charge so he can do whatever. I just threw up my hands and said OK....I AM OUT OF HERE. I AM DONE!! Delbert says no you aren't you are kidding aren't you...I just stood there and looked at him...then i turned around and said...BYE..I am outta here. and i left. After i cooled ff a little i called Delbert back and said OK i am sorry i went off like that but i had had enough of the ignorant fool and wasn't feeling well either.

So there was my second confrontation. Don't know it if was being sick, or stress release, or PMS which i haven't had that for a couple years now. But i just felt a lot of rage and i didn't like how it felt.

Hopefully I can de-stress befor they call me back to work and that idiot manager will be gone when we go back.

Anyway I will be off for a few weeks and am kinda happy to be off for a while!!!

Disappointment is my life.

Well so much for the job i love...back to the one i hate. Yes they ended our detail and not sure if i get to go back and finish it...nobody wants to give you a direct answer. It's like well we aren't sure or maybe if the work load picks up again. But the reason they gave for ending the detail at this time was they got a lot of stimulus payments in that they didn't expect to get and they needed help getting them done. The thing is they just laid off people last friday and again some more on monday and then brought us down tuesday. Then when they get us down there..they lay off 5 of the people we had upstairs. AND...where is all this stimulus they needed help doing...i have done about 3 bundles of it since we came downstairs. Why can't they just be truthful about what they do and stop beating around bush. IRS is good at that kind of stuff. Guess since i have worked there so long i should realize not to get happy about anything they do. So now i am stuck back in the job that i totally hate...data conversion instead of SCRIPS where i at least like the work. I am waiting on them to put the jobs on the board for the one i just left and LOVED. But knowing the way they pick people to get new perm jobs i know i am just stuck in a dead end job that i totally HATE.
I can retire in a few years from there and then maybe i can find something else to do. Who knows.

OH and Thursday the fire alarm went off in the center parking garage and made us have to evacuate the building. Well it was a malfunction but that had to be discovered. in the mean time we had to go down 6 flights of stairs to get out of the building (thats two sets of stairs per floor so it was like going down 12 sets of stairs) which killed my right knee. (the fire safety people made me go down which they weren't supposed to do cuz i could have stayed in the safety zone behind the firewall untill it was determined it was a real fire then a fireman would have helped me down). Then when we got downstairs...i had to walk another 1/2 mile to the safety zone outside and the sidewalk sloped downhill...so i twisted my knee cuz they were like rubber coming down all those stairs, and once we got out there (i only went half way cuz i said..no more) they called us back in. I went into the parking garage and up the elevator which was clear across the garage and by the time i got up there...my chest felt like someone was cutting off my air. Mary went to see if my inhaler was in my bag..which it wasn't cuz i forgot to put it back in after cleaning out my desk upstairs and i emptied everything out the night before. So i ended up in the nurses office (taken there by wheelchair) and they luckily had an inhaler for me to use and keep. Also where i sit now in data conversion is clear at the back of the building. Then i had to have my picture taken for the new badges they are giving us so i had to limp to the room where they were taking pictures and back to my seat which the stupid manager i have now didn't tell me exactly where the room was so i of course walked further than i needed to and had to come back to it.

So friday i8 didn't go to work cuz i could barely walk. I keep having charley horses in both calves and my right ankle and knee are messed up. My back is killing me too.

My Life stinks.

I grew another appendix!?!?!

You all know by now i was in the hospital a couple weeks ago for an evening, night and part of the next day. Went to the Dr. two weeks ago Wed. cuz i was having severe stomach cramping (like labor pains and had me doubled over and in tears they were so bad) and the runs. I just wanted something to stop the scoots and take away the pain in my gut. well I didn't get to see my Dr cuz he was gone so i saw the nurse practitioner. Usually she is pretty good. So she was pushing around on my stomach and said she thought i needed a CT scan and some blood work done. I went over to the hospital and they took my blood. Then they sent me up to the Diagnostic and Imaging Center in Independence for the CT scan. On the way home (Tanya took me) we stopped at Sonic for something to eat cuz i hadn't had anything to eat all day and it was around 3 or so. My phone rang and the nurse asked me if i was close to home and i said i was in Lees Summit. She said "we think you are having an appendicidous (sp?) and i needed to get to the hospital and i told her that unless it grew back no i wasn't. She kinda laughed and said OH...let me get back with the Dr and see what is up. They had seen some swelling and fluid on the lower right quadrant of the CT scan. So they called me after i got home and said they wanted to do some more tests and that they wanted to give me fluids and pain medicine through an IV and would i go to Belton hospital to be admitted. I had to find someone to take me cuz Tanya had gone back to work when we got home. I called Marcia and she said she was painting but she would stop and take me. I get up there and they take blood and start an IV and get me in my room and best of all they gave me morphine for the pain!!! YEAH finally the pain is gone for a while. I don't get any food or drink till after the tests the next day. The IV kept me from being super thirsty so i was fine. Amanda came after i called her and she brought her room mate with her. Marcia was glad cuz she hates hospitals and she left after Amanda was there a bit. Then i got ready for bed and had forgotten to put the hose with the mask to my CPAP machine in the suitcase...so i called Tanya and she brought it up to me. So then i go to bed and wake up every time they come into my room...ugh. I gave up at about 6 and just stayed awake. I only had to have morphine about 3 or 4 times the whole time i was there. So when the Dr came in he said i could probably go home and he didn't need to use his knives on me...i said good deal. And he had them cap off the IV so i had no more fluids going in. They took me to Xray and got a bunch of films. Then i had to wait an hour and a half for them to come and get me for the inter vaginal ultra sound. Woo Hoo...i haven't been violated like that in years. Uncomfortable but bearable. So i get back to the room and am waiting and waiting...i call the nurse and ask if i can have some water and food. They sent their high school volunteer into my room with a paper cup of water. I said..ummm can you fill my cup with ice water? 20 min later she comes back and says...they said you can't have anything. I said...the Dr said i could after the tests and they are done...she goes back to the nurses station and 20 min later comes back and goes to fill my cup. This was around 11 and she says...they said they will get you a tray. So i wait and wait and wait. 12:30 the nurse walks by and steps in and asks if i ever got a tray...i said..umm NO. She goes out to the food cart and brings me in a tray...which had been sitting on the tray since 11:30. I have cold fish, cold potatoes, cold green beans, hot pudding and hot peaches. YUM...but i was hungry so i ate it. Then around 2 the nurse brings the discharge papers in and said i can go home at 3. They didn't find anything on the ultra sound so they and I still don't know what was the matter. I called Marcia at work and she stopped and picked me up on her way home. SOOOOOOOO...i still have no idea what the matter was but all i knew was that the pain was gone and i missed 3 days of work. All i wanted was something for the pain and the scoots. sheesh.

I am all better now and still wonder what it was.

And speaking of work...did i tell you that i LOVE my new job? hahaha. It's going good and i still love it. I don't want to go back to my other job for sure.

There's my update. Sorry the story was so long.

Busy Busy Busy

WOW what a busy week. Learning a new job an helping with VBS has totally exhausted me.

Might i say 'I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVE MY NEW JOB'. I never want to go back to data conversion. Hopefully i won't have to. Everybody else that has ever taken a detail up here is still up here so I want to stay too. They are supposed to put jobs up on the board to bid on so we will have the experience and have already been trained so so so....i can only hope. They already told us the detail could be extended. i sure hope so. OH...and did i tell you that i have my own cubicle....i don't share it with anyone. I can put up pictures and decorate it any way i want. I have a 3 drawer cabinet and a 2 drawer cabinet and two overhead cabinets, my own computer on which i can send emails to anyone i want to, just can't go on the internet cuz it is just intRAnet and the internet is prohibited (government and all) and anything that is emailed to me can be monitored so if you email me...no naughty stuff ok hahaha. If you ask me i will give you my email address. I have emailed Mel already so she has it. Did i say i LOVE this job? There is no pressure like in the other department..no pushing to get stuff done. And since there is no pushing...you just get it done and enjoy doing it. So without the pressure...no stress...no stress...no stress. Ahhh....I love it.

So this week was VBS and i was helping in the craft room again. It was fun but exhausting. I was with the 4th, 5th and 6th graders this year so i didn't have to help them AS much as with the smaller ones. They did good with the first 2 crafts which were very simple. Day 1 was a sand project. They put different colored sand in a test tube (the theme was POWER LAB) with a rubber stopper and a key chain type clip on it. Then day 2 was a super bounce ball. It wasa powder like stuff that you poured into a mold and submerged into water for 2 minutes and then take it out and let it sit for 2 minutes and take it out and kind of roll it between your hands and its done and it bounces crazy cuz the mold had flat surfaces and it was super cool. They loved it. Day 3 was slime. It came with a beaker with a lid that you mix it in. Put the powder into water in the beaker and shake it for 2 minutes. Let it sit for 2 minutes and its done. They took it out and played with it for a while. Then came the day of total disaster. It was only a cross neclace made of beads and string...butttttttt....it was also the night we were supposed to play a game and tell a bible story, which Betsy did with the first group. (which by the way was our biggest group) She played the game and the story and then we started the neclaces which were far too difficult for the kids to do and everyone was yelling for help and there were only 3 of us (and one didn't know how to make the neclaces) and 5 tables of kids. OH MY. The bell rang and we had just gotten started with their projects. So they had to take them home not done. We sent the instructions but not sure any of them will finish them. The next group came in before we could even get the tables set up. We started right in on the neclaces this time but it was also our second biggest group. Joy still didn't understand how to make the neclaces so she wasn't a big help but she did what she could. This group only got half way through theirs. I kept a few of the girls' and finished them for them. The last 2 groups were the only ones to finish theirs (and they were really small groups so we could do the helping easy). We couldn't figure out why they planned the game and bible story on a night with such a hard project. Day 2 and 3 would have been much better cuz they had so much time left over after their craft they were rowdy. Anyway day 5 was signing the soccer balls we were sending to South Aftica kids and coloring a picture on the book that went with them telling how to play soccer in thir language. We then made prayer bead bracelets which was very easy...just tie a knot in the stretchy string and put on a bead...knot..bead..knot...bead...5 beads and then it was done. All the groups got theirs finished. I never realized how many kids can NOT tie a knot. All in all it was a pretty fun week but i am glad its over.

And did i tell you i LOVE my new job?? hehehe.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Well its another 4th of July. Hope everyone has a good and safe holiday. I am just gonna go to a friends house and watch the fireworks from her yard. We usually grill some stuff but this year we are gonna get some Subway sandwiches (they have a 5.00 special going) and some chips and dip and call it a day. No mess not much clean up. Not as yummy but much easier.

On the work front...they came around and asked for volunteers for a detail job in a department called RAIVS (not sure what that acronym stands for but). I had applied for a job in this department at one time but they put the job on hold and froze it for a while. So now they want help and of course i volunteered. Its a 60 day detail. They wanted about 9 people. They got like 50 volunteers so they went by our EOD (enter on duty) date....its so nice to have an old EOD cuz you get chosen before all the others...LOL. Yes i got the detail cuz for once seniority pays off. Also a friend of mine that got to be in this department cuz she was already a perm said they are gonna have some openings in this department soon so since i am gonna detail there i will see if i like it now. YIPPEE...I start this next Wednesday. I kinda hate leaving SCRIPS (which is the part of data conversion that i really like) and the gainshare incentive money but you gotta branch out and try something new if you want to get anywhere at the good ole IRS...ugh.

Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th of July. Love you all!

Nothin new

Same ol' stuff different day. No news on the job. Still working overtime. Feel like i live up there sometimes. With gas the way it is...i wish i did...wouldn't be spending all my overtime money on gas to get there. Glad i share rides with Marcia. Don't think i could afford to drive every week.

Got to see Amanda's new mode of transportation. Its cool...and you can pick her out of a crowd. LOL. Wish i could afford one of those Hybrid cars, would be kinda nice to get 40 miles to the gallon right now.

We are scrapbooking this Friday night 6 to 12 and Saturday morning 9 to noon at the Church. I love to get together with the girls and talk and try to work on our books...lol. Wish you could come Jen but your stuff is probably all packed away isn't it.

Bored bored bored.......

Wish i could have gone out of town this weekend since i have been off since friday and don't go back till tuesday. Down to Moms or somewhere...but gas is so dang high you just can't go anywhere...unless you take out a loan...HAHA.

Today i went to church and after church i came home...whoopie. Well i was gonna see if Marcia wanted to go to lunch but she had her kids there and i didn't know when they were leaving so i came on home and took chomper out. Talked to Phyllis about how Pat was doing...pat had a seizure and fell off a truckbed while unloading potatoes for the pantry...he broke his cheek bone. he fell flat on his face and got some really deep road burns on his chin too. they life flighted him up to st lukes???maybe not there..one of those hospitals up there though...and he messed up his hand..might have broken his wrist and cut the palm really bad..stitches across the palm...they might have to operate on his face. Anyway after she left to go up to the hospital i changed clothes and put on a tank top and some capris and went out and worked on a little rock garden down at the bottom and to the right of my steps where my angel is and the iron cross i put up last year. I got really really hot and was almost ready to pass out from the heat and bending over to do the garden which is only about a 2 foot by 4 foot little garden. i gotta get more rock to put in it and maybe some more cute things to sit in there...but i got it almost done. Had to come back in the house and cool off and took a little nap. Found out i got a bit of a sunburn when i woke up. my back and my arms are a bit tingly. First sunburn i have had in years.

Guess tomorrow i am gonna grill some pork steaks and some brat patties and some hot dogs. and phyllis is gonna make some taters and onions and some veggie.

Hope you all have a good memorial day. Stay cool and stay safe. Love you all!!!

Hello out there

I haven't been doing much other than working and oh yeah...working overtime. Sometimes i even get to go to church. Wish i could say i was getting lots of money stored up but the price of everything going up...specially GAS...has put a cramp in that theory. It is so crazy to have to spend half your paycheck to get back and forth to work. Will it ever end or will we all have to stop working cuz we can't afford to get there. It was 3.75 today when i was out. That's just wrong.

They have opened a few more job openings in the department i want in. This time i made sure i redid my application and used all their "KEY" words and had my manager go over it with me. She made some changes for me and i typed them into my MPQ (government application) and i faxed it to personnel Thursday. Now we wait AGAIN and see what happens. Marcia got a perm job in the department she is in. So now its my turn dang it. I am hopeing but you never know cuz i have heard a whole lot of people say they are going to apply and there are only "2" openings. UGH UGH UGH!

Say a few prayers for me.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

GEEZE give me a break

Do ya KNOW what time of the year it is??? Lots of work...lots of overtime...lots of pain in my shoulder and back. Stress and pain...yippee. Tax day..UGH!!

Ok. My shoulder is still killing me as is my back and i can't take the pain pills cuz they put me to sleep at work and i can't do that right now.

They are offering us 2 hours a day overtime and 10 hours a day on Saturday AND Sunday. And if they don't get enough participation on the weekends they will become "required" of us...they are calling it required now instead of mandatory cuz they think it sounds better. Its all the same. They were going to make it "reqired" for the next 3 weekends but decided not to make this one required to see how many people comply...i am sure the next 2 will be cuz people will wait till it is. Last weekend was overtime too. AHH the good old IRS blues. Hope you all did your taxes. hehehe I was going to wait to send them my check till today but i was afraid i would forget so i sent it last week.

and i posted on Mels blog by the way.

News for the masses

Ok, I am still alive. A little sore and stiff but doing some better. Oh, did i tell you why i am sore and stiff? No i don't think i did. Some of you know that i fell at work. If you didn't, its cuz you weren't at Glo's at Easter and i really missed ya!! Ok..here is the story. I was in the handicapped bathroom stall at work and had just finished my business. When i stood up i kinda turned sideways to pull up my pants for some reason of which i am not sure of now and my pant leg got under my foot and the floor was slick and my foot just kept sliding when i put it down and i fell flat butted on the floor and my back hit the wall of the stall. I hit pretty hard cuz it shook the rest of the stall doors down the line, of which there were several people occupying at the time. (stop laughing) Now remember i was in the process of pulling up my pants so i may have mooned anyone outside the stall. The little mexican lady that cleans the bathroom was out there and said "Oh my miss are you ok?" Well i said yes at the time all that was bruised was my ego. I had to crawl over to the bar on the wall to help myself up since my knees are bad and i can't just hop up like i used to when i was young. So i get up and pull my pants up and suck in my pride and go out to wash my hands. Joyce, one of the girls i work with and know really well, came out of the stall at the opposit end of the bathroom and said..Judy I thought that was your voice (when i fell i guess i said 'OH $HIT') are you OK? I told her yeah i was except for the ego thing. So we laughed a while and i went back to my work area. I told my manager that she may have to fill out an accident report. She goes are you kidding? filling out accident reports for the government is not fun. Anyway, I proceded to tell her what happened. By the time i was done telling my story, her and the girl that sits next to me, my work leader and the clerk were in tears laughing so hard as was i telling the story. She asked if i was ok and did i really want to do the accident report. I said maybe not right now. At that time i didn't really hurt much.

As i sat there though i got a little bit stiffer and soreness set in. By the time i got home i was hurting. Went to Moms Saturday and was hurting a little more. Made it through Easter and went to work Monday. I started hurting really bad sitting there at work and typing was killing my shoulder. I went in to the manager and she started up the paperwork for the accident. I stayed home Tuesday and went to the Dr for the rash on my leg cuz he wouldn't work with the Dept of Labor on a workmans Comp claim. So i had to go out to the ER to see a doctor there so i could get paperwork and X-rays for workmans comp. They took many many X-rays and nothing was broken so he gave me pain pills and had me stay home another day. My manager put on my paperwork that i sat all day and typed all day and the Doctor put on my return to work papers that i should do light work....no lifting over 10 lbs. and no bending from the waist or squating.....Ok...so how do those two things mesh??!??i still had to sit, which was hurting my back and type, which killed my right shoulder. Well i am still hurting on the shoulder and lower back.

Marcia and I started exercising and i am sore from that too....lol I am hoping to work out the kinks on the shoulder but its not working so far...just getting a little bit more sore. It should get better soon (I hope)!!

And i will get the pictures from St Pattys day on here when i can figure out how i did it before. Sorry its taking so long.

Life stinks

So...I put in for that job...only to find out my unit supervisor sent me the wrong job info so i actually put in for a job in Quality Assurance which i have done before but it is a very boring job and i didn't get it anyway. I guess i am nust not meant to work at IRS full time. It doesn't matter what job i put in for i won't get it because i haven't kissed the right butt or i just am not good enough for these people. We have to fill out this form called an MPQ which details your job experience and what you do and all your job awards and education....but the difference in this and a regular resume is....you have to use the right verb or the right sentence or some such crap that makes you look special. Its really discouraging that every time i put in for a job that someone with less time at the IRS gets it before i do. It really sucks that 29 years of experience at this place means absolutely NOTHING towards geting a full time job. It really irks me. It really ticked me off that my unit manager didn't give me the right info and that i didn't even get the chance to be denied the job i REALLY wanted. They just don't have openings that often in this department so when they tell you to try again next time....i could be 90 before they open full time jobs in there again. And it is really discouraging for everyone to say how come you aren't full time...apply for a full time job. Well when you DO apply for full time jobs and you get denied and someone off the street who has never worked there ever before gets it ahead of you makes it even worse. I hate to say this but even part of my family came in off the street and has a full time job. Mike is full time in a different department. He has only been there a few years but he came in off the street...hadn't gone to college...got a full time job....My neighbors brother applied for a full time job and got it just this year...he came in off the street...Life stinks.

Well you all wanted an update...didn't know i was gonna be bitter...LOL.

Budget problems at IRS

They cancelled the one job that i really wanted because of budget issues. Go figure..always happens when its something I really want. BUT on a good note...the other job i want is still open and we are waiting to hear about it. ALSO they "reassigned" people from Data Conversion where i have been forever to SCRIPS and I was one of them so i am over there now this season at least unless the other Perms (permanent employees) start throwing fits like they always do and stir up crap and get us all broght back over to DC....if they do there are gonna be a LOT of disgruntled IRS employees...lol. But for now i am where i really want to be and hopefully whenever they decide to tell us who gets the perm jobs over there I will be one of them.

Other than that....IT REALLY SUCKS NOT HAVING ANY DEPENDENTS THIS YEAR!! Talking tax return and all. I OWE for the very first time ever in my life. SUCKSSSSSSSSS!!!! Specially when i am not sure where the money is gonna come from to pay it before the 15th of April so i don't lose my job. COME ON OVERTIME!!!!

OK i am done venting. Hope you are all well and that you had a much better Valentines day than i did. Sat here all alone and nobody even called me. (Yes its a pitty party so just deal with it...lol)

Yeah that was one more vent...closing this vent. Later guys...Love you all.

Back to the grindstone

Got back to work and all seems like its the same...but there are a lot of program changes to learn. I hate when you get the program and your rythm going on the forms and then they throw in a stupid box you have to look for one year...then the next year you come in and they have taken that box out so you have to remember not to try to put it in....and THEN the next year they put it back in so you have to now remember to pick it up. They did that to us this year. We have to remember to put in a 1 or a 2 for this box on the form for your deductions when you itemize. Its a total pain in the hiney. So you watch...we will just get it down pat this year putting in that box and next year they will take it away again. Anyway i am rambling on about something you are probably sitting there going..."HUH??" Its back to the same old grind. not sure yet if Marcia and I are gonna work the 5 8hr days or work 4 10hr days. We plan on working more overtime this year (if we get to work any)which is good. Traffic sucks when we have to stay late which is what we will be in if we do the 4/10s but thats life.

Well i thought i had my shelf in the closet fixed and started to put stuff back up on it...when it fell again. The brackets i bought didn't work very well. But my very good friend and fellow small group member David is gonna come fix it for me. Him and Jamie came by after small group last night to look at it and see what he was gonna have to do to get it so i can use it again. Jamie has Contada (sp?) practice Monday night so he is gonna come fix it while she is doing that. I love my small group. They are all wonderful.

Chomper is still trying to figure out whats going on with me leaving him all day. I get home and he won't let me out of his sight. I almost trip over him at times. I have to yell at him to go lay down so i don't end up on the floor. He is getting bigger...but he won't get too much bigger now i don't think. He is so fun to watch sometimes, specially when he starts going psycho running from the bathroom up front clear to my bedroom door and back and then he starts a circle around my recliner and around the living room and back around my chair again...he does this circle about 3 times and then he sprawls out on the floor, feet straight out back with his tummy flat on the floor and front paws under his chin, like he is totally exhausted. He loves his squeeky toys too. Luckily he hasn't broken the squeeker on a couple of them.

Hope the weather stays nice and doesn't get nasty. I am sooooo ready for good weather and no more of this cold stuff.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have a few things to add to my "list"

I want to be a grandma, probably cuz most of my friends are grandmas.
I fear getting old and being too old to be a good or fun grandma. (no pressure Amanda its just something i think about)
I fear not losing any more weight and gaining it all back even with the band still in place.
I love watching movies with Sean Connery in them. My favorite being Medicine Man. Wishing i could find someone like him.
I love crafting of any kind. Making things is so cool. Jewelry & scrapbooks are my most favorite.
I would love to have a real house to live in with real water pressure. (i had none again this morning)
I would like to go back to Florida again some day and go to Disney World this time.
I would like to go visit my friend Gail in California someday.
I don't like to have to think of something to cook.
Once i start cooking i really don't mind it.

Lists...hmmmm things you may not know

I love;

the smell of sheets after hanging on the line to dry on a crisp windy day
the feel of a baby's skin
the softmess of a babys hair
the gentle touch of someone that loves you
the softness of the blanket amanda made me for christmas
how proud i am of my daughters accomplishments
sad movies
funny movies
people that are not fake
my friends
the people in my snall group
the fact that i had a girl and not a boy (i had no desire to have a baby boy)
happy babies
cool summer nights
holding babies and putting them to sleep when no one else can
my puppy
taking naps in the middle of the day
listening to the funny stuff that happens during other peoples days at work
hearing a baby laugh for the first time

I hate;

not being part of a pair
not being married
being alone
my weight
some parts of my job
being sick
to drive at night
to drive in the city
feeling like i may never be good enough
being broke all the time
that i may grow old alone and never be married
getting up early
going to bed early so i can get up early (i can't ever get to sleep when i have to)
getting old
feeling old
rude people staring at me
feeling like everyone is talking about me behind my back

Thats just a few of the things that make me tick.

gotta go to bed now...work tomorrow.
Oh...Marcia and I went out to eat a late lunch today at Olvie Garden. Might i say it was super yummy. I had Lasagna Tuscan Chicken...it was very very good and of course the salad and breadsticks..YUMOLA. She treated cuz she got a refund on a service contract that she had on the car she just traded in to get the new one she has now which looks like a mini Hummer...its a Nitro, a Dodge i think. Red. Its cool. It was our last hurrah before going back to work...lol.

ok...time to try to sleep...if i can.

Love you all.

All right all right all right already....sheesh

NOTHING NEW.

Well ok I go back to work this Thursday for sure. Didn't get to come to Jens shower...was bummed. No money for gas sucks. Marcia is gonna drive till we start getting a check. I have applied for two different full time jobs at work. Hopefully one will come through. And i hope its the one i want. Either one will be ok but I would really like to get out of Data Comversion which one of them is but the other one is in the department of data conversion that i actually like. Well i am hopeful anyway. One is under reporter and the other one is SCRIPS....i really want the under reporter but SCRIPS would do nicely.

Got my living room rearranged and it looks pretty cool now i think. Also went through the kitchen and got rid of some stuff so i could get my dishes all in the cabinets. Looks pretty good. NOW for my room...OMG the shelf in the closet fell down and everything is loaded on my bed. Good thing i can sleep in my recliner. Gotta get some brackets to hold up the shelf cuz the cheep plastic ones they put on them when they make these things broke. all 3 of them on the wall broke. So now i just gotta find some brackets. (and money haha). April (one of the girls i work with that came in to help me rearrange the living room and kitchen) said she would see if her husband had some out in his tool box. She will hopefully be back Tues. so we can get my bed emptied so i can sleep there since i am going back to work.

And did i say I'm going back to work?? lol

OK....talk to you after i go back to work and see whats new and how crazy its gonna be this year.

Love ya all.

One day they might get it right.

Thought i was gonna go back to work this week but called to make sure and they said not to come in till someone calls for you to come in cuz they once again didn't get the work in that they thought they would. So, I will have to wait now till they think they have enough work for us. Guess people didn't file as soon as they thought they would.

It has been raining off and on all day today. It is now raining once again and we are out of the tornado watch and into just a storm watch. I am up right now cuz of this wonderful cold i have. Isn't life wonderful. I think the medicine i am taking for it (which is the mucinex dm) has wired me and i can't sleep. It does taht to me sometimes. Anyway I just decided to post cuz i was bored. During the day i feel like i am just so tired and i guess its cuz at night i can't sleep. I can tell when the meds wear off cuz i start wheezing so i take another one and its better. I would love to go take a shower right now but the lightening scares me so I will just wait till it stops.

We are going to scrapbook this Friday night at the church. Was gonna tell you Jen but didn't think you should drive at night this far. You could come early and stay all night (and are very welcome to do so still) but I don't think i would be good at running you to the hospital should the need arise. LOL. I know it's short notice but they just told me Sunday.

Nothing else going on so I will quit now. Love you all.

Well Here is 2008

Happy New Year all. Hope you had a more exciting evening than I did. I slept till about 10:45 and Tanya called me and said she was coming over. Phyllis had to take Tyler to urgent care cuz of his leg bothering him from a fall he took about a month ago. I guess he hit it so hard it still had a hematoma on the bone and they were afraid there was infection in it. They did blood work and there wasn't so they sent him home. She didn't get back till after 12. So mostly Tanya and I sat here and ate some chips and turkey and talked and texted people. Phyllis finally got here and she ate some turkey cuz she had been at the hospital for about 8 hours and was starved. So any party plans we had to play some cards and so on were zilched and not much else happened. We even forgot to watch the ball drop...oh well. It got here without us watching anyway. So here is hopeing that 2008 is a much better year than 2007 was.

Love you all and again....Happy New Year and GOD Bless one and all.
